Michael Parks
Claim to fame: A reader requested this one, he was the star of a TV series called Then Came Bronson in 1969 (when I was two).

Where are they now? He's had an interesting life. He once turned down a pitching job in the baseball minors because he was making more money upholstering caskets (this may have happened prior to Then Came Bronson) and tried to qualify for the 1 mile run in the 1972 olympics. He appeared in a few other movies in the 70's which did not do much for his career (see the Leanard Maltin bio at IMDB). Most recently he played a sherrif in Quentin Tarrantino's "Kill Bill" He has had a parallel career in music which he is still active in fairly recently, with the 1998 release of Coolin' Soup, at the age of 58.

Michael Parks is 70 years old and still going strong. He's starring in Kevin Smith's new horror film, Red State. Michael has appeard in over 150 TV episides and movies since the early 1960s. Along with being a popular actor, he had a very successful music/singing career in the 1970s and 1980s. We met him twice in L.A. at autograph signing events this past summer(2010). He's friendly, funny and really appreciates his fans.

Have loved Michael Parks since I first saw him in Wild Seed, that lovely romantic movie in 1965. I've probably seen that movie over 100 times. Since then I have followed his career intensely and my wish is to meet him or contact him just to tell him that I think he's amazingly talented, handsome and sexy. I am a devoted fan! I am now 61 years old and it's definitely on my bucket list to meet the unique and awesome Michael Parks.

Michael Parks was a guest at the Texas Frightmare Weekend 2014 last Saturday autographing photos and taking photos with fans. We met him and I took a photo with him and my youngest son who is a very high functioning autistic 15 year old. Mr . Parks was so kind and really nice. Hope he attends again next year.

I have only become aware of Mr. Parks' earlier career after having been totally awed by his performances in Tarantino's and Smith's (Kevin) movies. The praises given the late Seymour Philip Hoffman are justified. Michael Parks, IMO, occupies the same heights and deserves the utmost respect of anyone who loves films and great acting. An actor's actor, Mr. Parks is one of the greats of film and television!

Being a fan of Then Came Bronson actor Michael is one of my favorite actors. There are few actors of his caliber. I put him up there with the late James Dean, both are in a class all by themselves.

Words cannot express the years (since 1973?) of lifting up prayers for Michael. It started when I met him once at the Venture County Fair grounds at dog show. My friend wanted me to take a picture with him. God called him to touch people in a way very few people are able. The prayers continue. Blessing to you Michael.

I believe that I met him in Berrien Springs,Michigan back in early 1972. If it wasn't him it could have been his twin brother if he had one.
