Rula Lenska claim to fame
Where are they now?
The person who originally submitted this stated she was "Slinging burgers at a truck stop in Bakersfield, CA". Subsequent feedback from readers suggests this is not the case. Most recently Brian Norber writes that he has traced her to London, UK where she is still working as an actress (actor?). Renata Ritchie reports a firsthand citing of her in Regent's Park "looking glamorous as ever, turning heads and being very entertaining" (and clarifies that she is Polish, not Romanian). One reader tells us she "Married with British actor Dennis Waterman for many years . Does UK TV and Stage work" but a more recent update informs us that Lenska and Waterman have divorced. She has recently (2004-ish) appeared in a couple episodes of the UK soap The EastEnders

At my university in the US, we studied the success of the ad campaign that featured Rula Lenska. The ad was featured on television in the late 1970s, and it was very successful! Why?
The television ad featured her with beautiful hair, telling viewers, “hello, I’m Rula Lenska…” and proceeding to tell us about how she relies on Alberto V05 hairspray.
This ad had an impact because of the mysterious Lenska–”are we supposed to know this woman? was the reaction, causing people to remember her and the product.” Rumors at the time connected her with Mick Jagger. I’m happy to learn that she lives a happy life in England.

We spotted Rula at Sancho Panza’s incredible sound System at Notting Hill Carnival 2010 – She looked great and was in the middle of the crowd raving it up with the best mof them to some hard techno sounds.
