Sticks Downy or Jack Baker
Claim to fame: John Anthony Bailey, got his big break when he landed the role of Sticks Downey, the black man Fonzie hires as a drummer for Richie Cunningham’s band. Baker received such a positive response that he was brought back to reprise the role. The Happy Days appearance also led to his being cast in Wonderbug, one of the Sid and Mary Krofft Saturday morning TV shows that were so popular in the 70s.

Where are they now? After the cancellation of Wonderbug, Baker had trouble finding anything more than bit parts. In 1984 he entered the world of hardcore pornography under the name Jack Baker. The fact that he could actually act made him a standout in that particular genre. After being diagnosed with AIDS in 1986, he no longer actually performed sex on camera, but remained in the industry in non-sexual roles until his death from bladder cancer in 1994.

He was diagnosed with the disease in 86. I worked with on many film sets and we all knew this. Good guy though.

I thought he died of bladder cancer. From Happy Days to adult films only in America.
