Christina Crawford's claim to fame
The adopted daughter of legendary screen queen Joan Crawford DID become a succesful actress in the 60s & 70s. But she is far-best remembered as the author of the searing, exploitive biography of her alcoholic, abusive mother in the 1978 bestseller Mommie Dearest. After touring the world on the talk-show circuit, defending her claims of being a victim of child abuse, Christina suffered a near-fatal stroke in 1981. After the film of the same title, based on her book, became a "midnight cult movie" sensation Christina dissapeared from the public to focus her energies on her own recovery and self-discovery! Where are they now?Christina made a complete recovery from her stroke and following the demise of her second marriage to producer David Koontz settled in the mid-west to own and operate a bed & breakfast on a horse farm. Christina still continues to lecture to childrens & victims rights and appears occasionally in celebrity functions. |
