Linda Blair's claim to fame
This pretty, girl-next-door, TV actress since age 6, was chosen out of 600 possibles to portray the demon-possesed Regan MacNeil in William Blatty's blockbuster hit of 1973 the Exorcist. Her depth of character and convincing portrayal won her world-wide acclaim and notoriety! But where else was her career to go from there? She actually found a niche in the 1970s in TV movies-mostly portraying pathetic teen-aged victims. Where are they now?![]()
.Her career took a major
nosedive after the critical and box-office disaster of the laughable Exorcist
II in 1977. Her exploitative, trashy, women-behind-bars flicks in the 1980s made
her a cult star in Europe but her attempts to reestablish herself as an
American actress have been unfortunately limited to satirical,straight-to-video
productions.
Now in her 40s Linda spends most of her career as an activist for
animal rights and vegetarianism.
