To quote garyrick96 AT hotmail D0T com's bio on IMDb, "Pee-Wee was a funny man-child of inderminate age and sexuality who created a sarcastic enthusiam for the popular culture of the '50s and '60s".
His career culminated in the 1985 movie Pee Wee's Big Adventure and the 1986 saturday morning children's show Pee Wee's Playhouse .
It all ended on July 26, 1991, when he was caught masturbating to the film Nancy Nurse in a porno theatre in Sarasota, FL.

Where are they now?

CBS cancelled his show, but contrary to what was originally reported here, his "Star" was not "unceremoniously removed" from Hollywood Blvd.
He paid a $50 fine and produced a public service ad for Partnership for a Drug Free America.
His career since has consisted mainly of cameos and bit-parts on the likes of Murphy Brown, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and movies such as Batman Forever and Mystery Men

Also: I was watching Blow (2001) the other night and thought the character of Derek Foreal looked very familiar but I couldn't place him. Sure enough, it was Paul Reubens.

Update 2004: "Pee-wee Herman" actor Paul Reubens was sentenced to three years probation on April, 2004 after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor obscenity charge involving photographs seized from his erotica collection. Prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor charge of child pornography that had carried a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
