They were supposed to be a "pre-fab femm-five" of sorts but they dumped the manager who was trying to assemble them and struck out on their own, becoming a grrrrl-pop sensation on both sides of the Atlantic.
Where are they now?
- Halliwel (Sexy Spice) left the group in 1998 for vague reasons and released an underwhelming solo record Schizophonic
- Brown (Scary Spice) married one of the group's dancers Jimmy Gulzar, they had a daughter Phoenix Chi in 1999, then divorced and a custody battle ensued. She also released a duet with Missy Elliot called I Want You Back.
- Adams (Posh Spice) married soccer star David Beckham and is now Victoria Beckham. They have two sons Brooklyn and Romeo
- Chisolm (Sporty Spice) had a successful solo effort Northern Star
The group continued without Halliwel in 2000, releasing Forever
